Project DoD SETI@home team
This is, perhaps, less of a game and more something we do that is both
fun and interesting. If you are unfamiliar with SETI@home you should
check their homepage
out. Basically S.E.T.I. is an acronym for the Search for ExtraTerrestrial
Intelligence. SETI@home is a group that searches the skies for extraterrestrial
transmissions. Well, to be more precise, they have a server which holds a heap
of data they have captured. Unfortunately, this data is to abundant for one
computer alone to search through. So SETI@home set up a server where you download
a small segment of this data and use your spare CPU cycles to search for signs
of a transmission. SETI@home makes this fun by allowing you to join groups
or teams which compete against one another. Project DoD has a team that simply
goes by the name DoD and our stats can be viewed
here.
Please, if you would like to join the DoD team you can go
here.
Before you join the team you must have a SETI@home account, which you can get
automatically when you install the software on your computer. To download
the software go here.
